How often do you find yourself running out motivation while endlessly trying to get something done? I'm guessing, at some point, we have all had issues in keeping our momentum going when reaching for a particular goal or outcome.
Here are 6 useful tips to remember the next time you feel that you are running out of steam:
𝟭 - Start on a POSITIVE note
Play your favourite music, have a brisk morning walk, .. do whatever energises you to kick-start your day with a positive attitude. More importantly, avoid negative self-talk (nothing good ever really comes from that).
𝟮 - Set your GOAL parameters
Make sure the outcomes you seek are realistic, measurable & manageable. Remember that unrealistic goals can lead to frustration and disillusionment. Break down your goals into small steps. This makes it easier to progress when moving forward.
𝟯 - Design an ACTION PLAN
Your PLAN should be one that allows you to carve out daily or regular time for. Celebrate the wins as well as the failures - for failures are valuable lessons that will benefit you the next time around.
𝟰 - Avoid DISTRACTIONS
It’s tempting to find something more fun to do or to easily get distracted. Keep those other activities as treats & rewards for when you’ve put in the allotted time for your action plan.
𝟱 - Use your STRENGTH
Capitalise on WHAT YOU ARE GOOD AT and use it to your advantage. Another strength you can tap into - one that often slips unnoticed by many- is the ability to ask others for HELP.
𝟲 - Remember to REST
If you don’t take some down-time every now and then to recharge, you can easily get burnt-out. Resting is just as important as working hard!
